Radiohead Wrote a Bond Theme
If you are a fan of Radiohead, you have heard their haunting and beautiful song Spectre, which they composed for the 2015 James Bond film of the same name. Unfortunately, the song was rejected by the film producers, who opted for Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the Wall instead. But that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate Spectre as one of the greatest Bond themes ever written, as Barnaby Martin explains in his YouTube channel Listening In.
In his video, Martin breaks down the musical elements of Spectre, and explaines out how Radiohead used their signature style of dissonance, chromaticism, and orchestration to create a dark and mysterious atmosphere that fits the character of Bond and the theme of the film.
